Diane Dean-Epps
English

Diane Dean-Epps has worked for the district for some 9 years -- two of which have been spent at Bear River as an English teacher. She ran the media program over at Nevada Union prior to that. She primarily teaches sophomores and juniors and when I hear student comments to the effect of: "I don't like English." I usually reply,"That's okay, honey, I like it enough for all of us!"

TEACHER PARLAYS CLASSROOM HUMOR INTO BOOK DEALS AND
FINDS NATIONAL SUCCESS ALONG THE WAY

Northern California, USA -- The hilarious author of the babyboomer anthem to parenthood, MATERNAL MEANDERINGS,
brings us a new and equally hilarious mystery book with its double entendre title --

LAST CALL. Introducing us to a fresh and exciting main character, teacher Marisa Danielson, while featuring the author's hometown of Nevada City, California, the author even manages to skillfully work in her husband's original music as chapter headings.

Author, Diane Dean-Epps, pioneered a writing style she calls "SIT DOWN, STAND UP!" and it's in fine form as protagonist, Marisa Danielson, comically delivers one pithy line after another as she pursues her quest for a murderer.

The plot takes us down a veritable Lombard Street of comedy, providing intriguing mining history and clues from the library, of all places, as Marisa begins to doubt everyone, including her sensuous boyfriend, Jimmy.

Dean-Epps gained national recognition when the anecdotal tales of MATERNAL MEANDERINGS found a fan in top-rated radio personality Dr. Laura Schlessinger who endorsed the paperback, urging her listeners to, "Buy this book!"

The author currently performs her daily comedy "bits" in the high school classroom as she makes every effort to teach and amuse Generation Y-ME(?!). She has also worked in television and radio, acting in a multitude of commercials and productions, as well as performing and writing stand-up comedy routines. As a popular humor columnist Dean-Epps' writing has appeared regularly for the past several years in numerous periodicals, most notably The San Francisco Chronicle , The Contra Costa Times, The Union, and www.parentinghumor.com.

With its teacher protagonist, love interest entanglements, and zippy dialogue-driven narrative LAST CALL is sure to be a call to action for readers who love rock `n' roll bands, crime-fighting teachers, mind-blowing action, carnal desire and enough dizzying plot turns to make a sailor queasy.
