Viruses

In short a computer virus is a destructive computer program that is transmitted over the Internet. Viruses are intentionally written to mess up your computer; some folks like to do this stuff for fun. In real life, viruses are very simple and tiny life forms that live only to reproduce - they often cause diseases. In web terms, a virus is a nasty little computer program that also seeks to reproduce, and muck up your computer in the process. Most viruses are spread through email attachments, so you should never open an email attachment that looks suspicious, even if it's from someone you know.
