"I Team"

The "I Team" is made up of 4 students

As a group go through the Search web site. Complete the scavenger hunt and hand in one completed hunt for the group.  For homework tonight create your own scavenger hunt using the template provided here. Scavenger Hunt Template

Divide up the assignments

Research each topic.  Use various search engines to research your topic.  Do the different search engines provide you with different results? Using Word keep a list of the sites that you will use to make your presentation.  Name it Cite Your Sources .  Click here to learn how to create a bookmark file.

Analyze the information.  The links that I have provided are only to get you started.  Make sure you use the information you learned from the Search web site to help you search the Internet so that you can  become the expert on your selected topic.

As a group prepare a newscast that makes our 16 million viewers want to tune in on Sunday night.

Limit your newscast to 20 minutes (including commercials). You and your team must decide what is most important information for the public to know about Information Literacy.  Each one of the team members should have highlights of their research as well as the important research you did as a
team.

Your newscast should be exciting and creative (Remember, we are looking to win an Emmy or a Peabody Award!) Feel the pressure :)

You will want to use different types of communication tools (at least 2).

Some examples are:
· Visuals (charts, graphs, posters, etc)
· Objects (i.e. models)
· Role play or skits
· Songs, stories, artwork

Advertising Executive

No newscast would be complete without commercials.  Your sponsors should relate to the topic of Information Literacy.  Include 2 commercials in your presentation.

You will also need one Public Service Announcement

Public Service Announcements (PSAs) may be used to  provide general information about  your story. Click here for tips on how to write a PSA
