Unit 1: The Essay |
The purpose of this unit is not only to reinforce the essay writing
skills taught in your English 1 class, but also to teach you the more advanced
essay skills that you will need if you choose to continue in the English
Honors program at Bear River High School. We expect you to use these
skills in all four of the English 1X online units and also to use them
in your English 1 class to practice them as much as possible.
To successfully complete this unit and earn an "X" on your transcript,
you must complete all nine of the given assignments by each of their deadlines.
Missing any assignment will disqualify you from the program. In addition,
your total grade on all nine units must be 80% or better to pass. This
program will have no effect on your English 1 grade.
